We are pleased to announce that Hogave Conservation has been awarded a Rapid Feasibility Award from the Rainforest Trust Fund. The Rainforest Trust Fund is an international organisation that supports communities and organisations in their forest conservation efforts.
Mr. Abul Halik who is the Asia Pacific Conservation Strategist for the Rain Forest Trust Fund stated in his congratulatory message to Hogave Conservation as follows,
“We are delighted to inform you that Rainforest Trust would like to partner with Hogave Conservation Centre Incorporated (HCC) and support your proposal for a Rapid Feasibility Award to investigate the feasibility assessment to create Hogave Conservation Area to protect a number of Birds of Paradise species, Goodfellow’s Tree-Kangaroo and other species and habitats in Papua New Guinea.”
Hogave Conservation is grateful to Mr. Halik for all His valuable support and equally thank Ms. Zola Sangga, Program Manager for PNG Biodiversity Conservation Fund who is very supportive of Hogave Conservation and favourably recommended us for this award. Pending the successful completion of this Rapid Feasibility Award we may be considered for the larger award to complete the assessment and eventually have our conservation area declared a Protected Area under Conservation and Environment Protection Authority of Papua New Guinea.
